NOTD : Vinylux by CND

February 2, 2015

I’ve never tried shellac, gelish, acrylic or all that jazz. I keep it very traditional when it comes to nail polish; until Vinylux happened.

I’m really skeptical about new polish formulas, because “normal” polish itself contains a crazy amount of chemicals that may damage your nails, even though it promises to be nail friendly.
I payed NBar a visit during my stay in Dubai and decided to try out the new Vinylux line by CND. Its main selling point is that it’s a 7-day chip free, quick drying and durable polish. The two-step application polish doesn’t require a base coat which is super weird.
Although it lasts, or is “supposed” to last, for seven days, the aesthetician insisted on taking it off on the tenth and not leave it any longer. According to what she said, Vinylux adheres to the nail when exposed to heat and sun. Interesting. Strange, but interesting.
Day 1

Day 3 or 4 – I noticed the polish got a bit scratched off on the border of these three nails, but it’s nothing too shocking.

Day 7 – It’s clear that the nails grew (notice the gap between polish and nails). However, there are no big chips and the polish is still very shiny.

I took off the polish on the eighth day as it started to look cheap and I got bored of it; I must admit, I had a hard time removing it. I should’ve probably taken it off on the seventh instead
Overall, I’m really impressed. I’m the type of person whose nail polish chips the next day and yet this lasted for eight whole days. This product is mainly designed for busy women who never have time to worry about their nails during the week. I’m definitely going back to try out other colors.
P.S: a) the gorgeous red I went for, is called Wildfire and b) I went for a Paraffin treatment as well and it’s a must!
Have you ever tried the Vinylux line?
