A clump-free mascara is every girl’s dream. I normally never dedicate a full post to a single mascara. It’s more interesting to combine several products in one post, but Lancome’s Grandiose mascara deserves a whole book.
I usually dislike new mascaras at first. As anticipated, Lancome’s much-raved-about-new mascara failed to impress me. I didn’t really know how I felt about it as it didn’t do a better job than the previous mascaras I’ve owned.
Now, the bizarrely bent wand definitely facilitated application: you are less likely to end up with a hideous black smudge on your nose while coating your lashes on the left side. Also, the short rubber bristles grab on to the lashes quite nicely and separate the lashes beautifully.
So far, everything sounds marvellous, doesn’t it?
My problem is that I hate wet mascaras and all new mascaras are.. well.. wet. After two weeks of using Grandiose, I finally understood why Lisa Eldridge loves this mascara so much. The dryer the formula gets, the more length and volume it adds to the lashes. Plus, it creates a curl that makes your eyes look more open. Your lashes truly end up with a grandiose fan-effect *flutters eyelashes*.
A lot of people thought I curled my lashes, did a lengthening-lash treatment, or even added falsies. I received an unbelievable amount of compliments! Thank God for makeup!
The drugstore is filled with amazing mascaras (some of them are better than high-end ones) and I’d rather save my money by buying inexpensive yet good products, but I believe that every makeup-addict should invest in a good tube of Grandiose. I don’t say it often: this stuff is magnificent.
Have you tried this mascara before? What is your all-time favorite mascara?
