So I’ve been hauling during the whole month and loving it. Zero guilt. I was planning on going wild at beauty stores to celebrate my birthday, the end of my exams and the end of high school. The damage was done progressively.
I haven’t been buying a lot of makeup for myself during the year. I’m just going to put it out there. A whole lot of reasons kept me away from spending my money on goodies like these: a) exams and school work kept me away from everything, b) I didn’t have any time on my hands or enough skin to try out new products and c) I would walk out of Sephora or Boots empty handed due to a lack of inspiration. There – I said it.
A lot of events happened during this month. My desk is filled with new products to try! Part of these events was Beauty World Middle East, the biggest beauty trade show in the region. I couldn’t bear the thought of missing out on it again. They basically present a lot of new brands on the market. I also saw well-known brands such as OPI, Orly, Dermalogica, etc. All of this rambling to say that I finally got the Seche Vite top coat! I’m so excited for probably the most boring product of this post. I have tried this already in different salons that use it as the top coat: amazing stuff.
I then payed a visit to MAC. It’s funny how I was so into MAC products a year or two ago. But now, it just got boring. Am I the only one who feels this way about the brand and its products? They have cool collaborations with celebrities and amazing collections. But the good stuff get sold out before hitting shelves. Don’t get me wrong, they do have great products that are part of my top favourites. Anyway, this visit was only for necessities. I had to get another Lingering eyebrow pencil and a brush cleanser. Okay, I lied. The brush cleanser is the most boring product of this haul.
Moving on to the fun stuff. I was craving a new bronzer and debating whether I should get the Marc Jacobs’ one which is pretty luxurious or the Clarins one that they release every year with their summer collection. My heart was telling me to go for the Summer Bronzing Compact from the Clarins Colours of Brazil collection (which was more expensive than the MJ bronzer). I could hear it call my name. The number of positive reviews this product got is cray! But more on that another time.
Last but not least are the last two purchases of the month: the Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation and the Translucent pressed setting powder. Believe it or not, none of my foundations match my skin perfectly. They’re either too light or too pink. Since my prom/graduation is coming, I rushed to Laura Mercier to get these two babies. I had my eye on them for so long. I initially wanted to get the loose version of the powder. But pressed powder is way more convenient and user friendly for me.
If you’re still reading this post that consists mostly of my boring life, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Have a great Tuesday!
What did you buy this month? Inspire me!
