The endless search for perfect skin continues with an updated skincare routine. I’ve been receiving a lot of questions regarding what to use for oily and acne-prone skin. You have come to the right place, my dear friends.
March… You have sent me to, both, heaven and hell. I’m not going to complain though. I have fallen in love with quite a few things this month and that’s all that matters. Continue Reading…
Can someone take me back to Dubai!? Reality dragged me back to Beirut for university. But you know what? I’m not going to complain: I payed Sephora a long visit before I left. So here’s what I got.. Continue Reading…
The amount of fancy beauty potions can sometimes be overwhelming. I never know what to pick up from the skincare department without guidance. I’m still learning, don’t judge. Also, the weather I went through since August was no help to my skin at all. Point is, my skin was terrible and I found a good skincare routine.
Clarins Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel
This was a recommendation and I’ve been using it for about a week. I love gel cleansers. I think they’re the best at removing what ever is still hiding in your pores. This has a kind of a creamy feel to it which makes gentle. I found that it dries my skin to a lovely matte and velvety finish whereas other cleansers, well, they just cleanse. Err.. Duh. So far, I think this product is simple yet effective.
Mini Luna by Foreo
I’ve already mention this little interesting machine here but it deserve ten more mentions. Foreo came out with this genius concept: a rubber device that helps you deep clean your face. It’s more gentle than the Clarisonic (which I’ve never tried). I absolutely love my Mini Luna. I honestly don’t know how I’ve lived without this my whole life.
Lush Ocean Salt face and body scrub
Another relatively new product for me. It’s a chunky exfoliator that works great for face and body. It removes almost all the dry skin leaving your skin really smooth. Unlike other scrubs, I didn’t feel that it’s firming or that it tightens the skin. Weird.. I use this 2 to 3 times per week. It also contains vodka. Turn up!
Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub
If I’m not using the Lush scrub then I’m probably using the Dermalogica one. This is amazing. I’m serious. It can be used on daily basis and it transforms your skin into the perfect canvas. I always go back to this scrub. We’re taking this on HG level people!
Bioderma Sebium Hydra moisturizer
This is the only moisturizer I use. Sad but true. Every time I try to go wild and get a new, I tend to go back to Bioderma. It never fails. Let’s just say it gets the job done pretty well. I couldn’t recommend this enough for people with acne or breakout.
What skincare products have you been using at the moment? Any recommendations?
So I’m finally back from China. I went on school trip to Beijing and Shanghai for 10 days and I’m kind of happy to be back. Don’t get me wrong, it was a lovely trip and I had the time of my life. But I realised that heart belonged in Dubai.
Two Caudalie products were included. This brand landed in Dubai recently and I still didn’t have the chance to get my hands on their products until now. The first product is the Vinoperfect Perfecting Day Fluid. It’s basically a perfecting, correcting and moisturizing fluid that creates a radiant complexion instantly. The second Caudalie products is their Hand & Nail Cream. It rejuvenates hands by hydrating and softening them.
Then we have an Inglot silver eyeshadow. I love their eyeshadows: buttery, smooth, lightweight, easy to blend. But I’m not so sure about this silver. It’s very shimmery for me and I’m not much of a silver girl anyway.
Lastly is the Dove Purely Pampering Shea Butter & Vanilla Cream. I haven’t tried this yet but dear god it smells amazing! It is designed to do exactly what it says it does: pamper and nourish while enveloping your senses.
A few extras were also added to the box: Glambox brush which is super soft – loving it, Nstyle voucher, Laser treatment or Ultrasound Cavitation treatment voucher at Wellbeing Medical Center and samples from Herbline Essentials.

Tried any of these products before? Thoughts?
I’ve been sick during this whole week and I’m so surprised by how much an illness can affect your skin. Other than popping pills, drinking hot tea and vitamin C, skin needs 3 times the maintenance that it usually gets. I’ve gathered all the products that I can find in my bathroom to look and feel normal again.
I don’t get sick really often, so it was a bit of a shock to see my skin in this dreadful state. I dug out everything containing vitamin C to boost my energy back up and moisturising products to battle against the dryness, especially the areas around the chin and the cheekbones.
After cleansing my face, I used the Philosophy Microdelivery Peel. I found this a while ago in my mother’s bathroom. I can’t believe the results that it gives! Amazing. It’s done in two easy steps. I chose to use this a) to feel fresh and b) because it contains vitamin C. Why haven’t I used this before? I love it! But more on that another time.
Next are two masks. Yes. I used two masks. This is how bad my skin is. Lisa Eldridge said it was okay to do so. Anyways, I can’t quite remember which one I used first but it doesn’t matter really.. Dermalogica’s Skin Hydrating Mask was thickly layered all over the face for a good dose of moisture. As for the Tripe Oxygen Instant Energizing Mask by Bliss, well, it did what the name says it does. Unfortunately, I only have a sample of that and I’ve used the very last drop of it. I might go buy a full sized one. It’s a really nice mask and gives a lot of radiance.
Lastly, I finished off with the Triple Oxygen+C Energizing Cream by Bliss, sister of the mask. Not the most moisturising cream out there. But it sure does make you feel fresh, radiant and energised. Of course, I’ve used other products like cleanser, under eye cream, lip balm, etc. But nothing very interesting or new.
That is all for today. Have a lovely Thursday and weekend!
What are your sick skin saving products?
I’m not going to lie, I wasn’t completely satisfied with this month’s Glambox. Don’t get me wrong, coming home to a pink box of full sized products brings me an amazing feeling of joy. But this isn’t what went wrong this time.
This month, Glambox collaborated with Nivea. We all know and love Nivea for diverse reasons. For me, it’s the first beauty and skincare brand that I’ve been introduced to ever since I was a child. Throughout the years, I’ve realised that Nivea products are standard. When I need a lip balm or a body lotion that will provide me a good result, I would go for this brand.
However, I believe that this box wasn’t worth its price tag (but I have to be honest, this was sent to me – I didn’t pay for it). Of course, Glambox never fails at introducing new products – which is why I love this type of subscription so much. But I think that this concept should open doors to higher end brands (not necessarily the brands you find in Bloomingdales or Harvey Nichols) rather than brands that are easily accessible to all and already known by everyone.
Nevertheless, here are the products in the box:
1. The very well known and classic Nivea Cream
2. Touch of Waterlily Shower Gel – very foamy and fresh
3. In-shower Body Moisturiser – love this! It was featured in my last favourites post
4. Invisible for Black & White Clear Roll-on
To complete my last argument, the only product that is unknown to me is the shower gel. Despite what was said above, all the products are full sized and are daily essentials which is actually quite nice. I guess it’s more of a “restocking essentials” rather than a “discovering new products” box.
Did you receive your March Glambox? What are your thoughts? Would love to know in the comments!
Like yesterday’s post from the “Last Minute” series, I thought of putting up a list of last minute beauty stocking stuffers. As I said in this post, I always leave those kind of stuff for the last minute. I’m sure what I’m about to suggest will be great help for you 😉
1. No one can get enough of Lush’s Bubble Bars. This one is made for this jolly season.
2. L’occitane’s hand cream is THE cream to have! It’s real moisturizing shizzle! This box contains 3 L’occitane hand creams.
3. Nail polishes are the best beauty stocking stuffers out there. But instead of 1 nail polish bottle, why not get 4 mini bottles of Essie’s holiday collection? Link! 🙂
4. Miniature perfumes or roller balls like these from Ralph Lauren!
5. Another great stocking stuffer that we see every year: candles. Bath & Body Works have amazing festive holiday scented candles with cute names like “Tis the season“. You can check out here other stocking stuffers ideas from Bath & Body Works.
6. Miniature skincare products from Philosophy! Come on, how cute are these things??
I wish my stocking included all of these products.
Hope it was helpful. Merry christmas 🙂
It’s the 1st of June today, which means that the month of May has past. This calls for a monthly favorites!!
This is a new series of posts that I’m introducing to the blog. At the end of each month, I’ll be posting the go-to items that I’ve loved and used. It includes makeup, skincare, haircare, clothes, shoes, accessories… I’ll do a quick review of every product to not make this post super long and boring!
I’m going to start off with skincare. I’ve been using this for while now and I’m almost out of it!! It’s the Sebium Mat by Bioderma.
On to concealer! I loved the Studio Finish Concealer by MAC.
This concealer is really strong! It has full coverage, it’s long-wearing, it’s smooth, it’s water-resistant, it has SPF 35. What’s better than that?! Plus, it’s great for all skin types! I like using it for my dark circles as well as my face where I have blemishes or breakouts.
I like applying it with the P80 Precision flat brush by Sigma.
This brush is great for concealer and for hiding unwanted blemishes! It gives a flawless finish. I really like it! I also like applying liquid highlighter onto my cheekbones with it.
For my eyes, I’m really loving the Sigma eyeshadows! I have used one in particular in the Bare palette.
