My 3 Emergency Skincare Products

September 27, 2017

So I’ve been very lazy when it comes to skincare products these past few months: a splash of water, a bit of moisturizer, and we’re good to go. After adopting this routine for more than 3 months, SOS products are very much needed. Crash mode activated.

3 Lush Products You Need This Summer

July 11, 2016

Lush summer essentials

It’s no great secret, I love Lush. The smell of the shop, the freshness of the products, the great staff that talks you into buying the whole store. I love it all. But there are 3 Lush products that I can’t seem to step away from.

The Skincare Routine

October 11, 2014

The amount of fancy beauty potions can sometimes be overwhelming. I never know what to pick up from the skincare department without guidance. I’m still learning, don’t judge. Also, the weather I went through since August was no help to my skin at all. Point is, my skin was terrible and I found a good skincare routine.

I’m following the classic cleanse/exfoliate/moisturize routine. I found that it works best with my skin. Although I have combination to oily skin, I’m leaving out the toner at the moment. I’m in Beirut now, not Dubai, there actually is the fall season. Toning my face is giving me dry patches around my mouth. So we’re ditching that.

Clarins Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel
This was a recommendation and I’ve been using it for about a week. I love gel cleansers. I think they’re the best at removing what ever is still hiding in your pores. This has a kind of a creamy feel to it which makes gentle. I found that it dries my skin to a lovely matte and velvety finish whereas other cleansers, well, they just cleanse. Err.. Duh. So far, I think this product is simple yet effective.

Mini Luna by Foreo
I’ve already mention this little interesting machine here but it deserve ten more mentions. Foreo came out with this genius concept: a rubber device that helps you deep clean your face. It’s more gentle than the Clarisonic (which I’ve never tried). I absolutely love my Mini Luna. I honestly don’t know how I’ve lived without this my whole life.

Lush Ocean Salt face and body scrub
Another relatively new product for me. It’s a chunky exfoliator that works great for face and body. It removes almost all the dry skin leaving your skin really smooth. Unlike other scrubs, I didn’t feel that it’s firming or that it tightens the skin. Weird.. I use this 2 to 3 times per week. It also contains vodka. Turn up!

Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub
If I’m not using the Lush scrub then I’m probably using the Dermalogica one. This is amazing. I’m serious. It can be used on daily basis and it transforms your skin into the perfect canvas. I always go back to this scrub. We’re taking this on HG level people!

Bioderma Sebium Hydra moisturizer
This is the only moisturizer I use. Sad but true. Every time I try to go wild and get a new, I tend to go back to Bioderma. It never fails. Let’s just say it gets the job done pretty well. I couldn’t recommend this enough for people with acne or breakout.

What skincare products have you been using at the moment? Any recommendations?

Skincare : Neutrogena’s Visibly Clear Gentle Exfoliating Wash

February 23, 2014

There is some sort of universal tradition that consists of getting your first facial wash from Neutrogena. Name me one teenager that never used this brand before. See? No answer. When I was younger, my first skincare product was Neutrogena’s Oil Free Acne Wash. In this post, I’m going to talk about another famous cleanser of theirs: Visibly Clear Gentle Exfoliating Wash.

Indeed, most of us used this when we were younger. But what is really interesting is that it has another effect on me now than it did back then when I had severe acne. Anyways, I’ve been using this for over a month now and I’m kind of hooked to it.

It’s a very gentle exfoliator and cleanser so you’re not damaging your skin unless you’re really heavy handed. The reason why I love this the most is because you don’t need to exfoliate with a different product afterwards as it contains blue microbeads. Holler to all the lazy people! It is designed to deep clean and clear out pores. Now, I do feel like my face is really clean after using it. But I’m not so sure it is the best at deep cleaning as it is quite gentle.

I use this in the morning and/or at night. The best time to use it is after a post-workout shower. You come out of your bathroom feeling so fresh, young and polished – not that I’m very old. Lately, I’ve been changing my skincare routine a lot – simply because I have no routine, at the moment. However, I keep on going back to this product.

Which cleanser/exfoliator are you using now? Have any of you tried this one?

Beauty tips : Keeping your lips soft and smooth

July 26, 2013

One thing that I absolutely can’t stand is dry and chapped lips because a) you end up bitting them off, and b) lipstick doesn’t look good on with chapped lips. There are a few products out there that do the perfect job to keep my lips soft and smooth. With these two simple steps, you’ll have smooth kissable lips this summer!

Step 1

An all-time favorite lip scrub of mine is the Bubblegum sugar lip scrub by Lush. I love the fact that it’s sweet and edible. It removes every bit of dead skin on the lips and leaves your lips so smooth. Best part is that you can eat it afterwards! I really like eating it and I know a lot of people who do the same. I guess I’m not so weird, after all. I like exfoliating my lips 3 to 4 times per week.

Step 2

Another Lush product that I’ve been introduced to recently is the Whip Stick lip balm, a chocolate orange balm . I normally don’t like chocolate flavored beauty products. But this one hasn’t got the overpowering flavor and scent to it that gives you a headache by the end of the day. This product leaves the lips with a really soft feel to them. I’m still madly in love with my Beesline lip care which stays in my handbag (which is why it isn’t photographed). But I believe I have started a new relationship with the Lush balm. I use lip balm right after exfoliating my lips and everyday, specially before sleeping.

As you may have noticed, Lush Cosmetics are pretty amazing when it comes to lip care. I definitely recommend both Lush products if you’re having a hard time finding good lip products.

How do you like keeping your lips soft? Have you tried these products? Thoughts?

Monthly Favorites : My May Favorites!

June 7, 2013

I was meant to post this month’s favorites a week ago but I was caught up with school and exams (happening very soon!) Sorry!
May has been a month of testing for me. I’ve tried and tested a bunch of new products and most of them have made it to my top list. Before the “product testing” phase, my skin went against me. It dried up, I got bad breakouts and somedays I would end up with an oily T-zone and dry patches around my chin and nose. Ugh, the horror!

I’m going to start off with Urban Decay’s setting spray All Nighter. I wouldn’t leave the house without spritzing a bit of that stuff on my dry patches. It would magically make them disappear. Crazy, I know. It also makes my makeup last all day (for those of you living in Dubai, you know what I mean).

Remember I went to Morocco and got this little bottle of Argan oil? I started using it this month. Oh em gee. Argan oil is the shizzle (to avoid using another word). It’s 100% pure Argan oil, bio and natural. It’s magic! Ever since I started using this, my breakouts started fading away and my skin got way better. I sometimes use it on my hair too after the shower. I’m not a huge fan of applying it to dry hair though. I normally apply it to my face before sleeping to allow my skin to absorb all of the product. Will probably write a post sharing the benefits of this oil.

If I’m not using Argan oil on my hair, then I’ll be using Davines’s Oi/Oil that I got to know earlier in may. I’m not the type who would enjoy hair products for the only reason that I find nothing works on me. However, this oil made my dry-looking locks healthy, shiny and smooth. I’m not going to say much about it now. Stay tuned for a full review 😉

If you’ve read my previous posts you would know that I’ve been enjoying Dermalogica’s Macrofoliant, Rimmel’s Apocalips and Maybeline’s Dream Lumi Touch. I believe the reviews show enough love to these products.

My sister came back to Dubai for a week and got me a rather considerable amount of gifts. Of course, my heart was caught by the white and black shopping bag with the label Chanel in the center, that I intagrammed a while ago. She picked up for me a Chanel Coco Rouge lipstick in Liaison. Best sister ever? I immediately fell in love with the color. I would have, probably, never picked this up from a Chanel counter. Anyway, I’ve been wearing this every weekend. Perfect shade for spring and summer! Will post swatches soon.

I promised a lot of posts and reviews until now. A bit problematic with my my exams at the moment. I’ll do my best to keep this blog alive. Stay tuned!

Did you enter my giveaway? Hurry up, it ends soon!

Skincare : Review of Dermalogica’s Daily Macrofoliant

May 25, 2013

My skin has been terrifying with all the breakouts that I’ve been having lately. Luckily, I got sent this amazing product by Dermalogica that blew my mind away.

The Daily Macrofoliant is a rice-based powder that you apply to wet hands to create a sort of “paste” which will very gently exfoliate your face. And when I say very gently, I really mean it. It’s a new concept to me that I’ve never tried before.

I’m the type of person who believes in immediate results and this served me well. I used it after cleansing and noticed right after drying my face that my pores got smaller, my skin got smoother and my face got clearer. Sounds impossible and surreal. Trust me, I ain’t lyin’. This stuff is magic!

After using it for a week and with a bit of Argan oil help (that I just started using), my breakout started to fade away. I normally use it at night and sometimes in the morning (if my pores are looking extremely large).
This has become a must-have on my list and an essential for my daily skincare routine. I have to admit that I don’t find a lot of effective skincare products that leave me speechless. But the Daily Macrofoliant is simply magnificent
What is your favorite exfoliator lately? Leave a comment below 🙂
