Finally! A handful of interesting items that are worth labelling favorites. I’m very hard to please *flicks hair* Continue Reading…
The amount of fancy beauty potions can sometimes be overwhelming. I never know what to pick up from the skincare department without guidance. I’m still learning, don’t judge. Also, the weather I went through since August was no help to my skin at all. Point is, my skin was terrible and I found a good skincare routine.
Clarins Daily Energizer Cleansing Gel
This was a recommendation and I’ve been using it for about a week. I love gel cleansers. I think they’re the best at removing what ever is still hiding in your pores. This has a kind of a creamy feel to it which makes gentle. I found that it dries my skin to a lovely matte and velvety finish whereas other cleansers, well, they just cleanse. Err.. Duh. So far, I think this product is simple yet effective.
Mini Luna by Foreo
I’ve already mention this little interesting machine here but it deserve ten more mentions. Foreo came out with this genius concept: a rubber device that helps you deep clean your face. It’s more gentle than the Clarisonic (which I’ve never tried). I absolutely love my Mini Luna. I honestly don’t know how I’ve lived without this my whole life.
Lush Ocean Salt face and body scrub
Another relatively new product for me. It’s a chunky exfoliator that works great for face and body. It removes almost all the dry skin leaving your skin really smooth. Unlike other scrubs, I didn’t feel that it’s firming or that it tightens the skin. Weird.. I use this 2 to 3 times per week. It also contains vodka. Turn up!
Dermalogica Skin Prep Scrub
If I’m not using the Lush scrub then I’m probably using the Dermalogica one. This is amazing. I’m serious. It can be used on daily basis and it transforms your skin into the perfect canvas. I always go back to this scrub. We’re taking this on HG level people!
Bioderma Sebium Hydra moisturizer
This is the only moisturizer I use. Sad but true. Every time I try to go wild and get a new, I tend to go back to Bioderma. It never fails. Let’s just say it gets the job done pretty well. I couldn’t recommend this enough for people with acne or breakout.
What skincare products have you been using at the moment? Any recommendations?
I came to notice that there are exactly five products I can’t live without (hence the name of the post. Duh.) Even though I don’t use them all on daily basis, they are still necessary items to own.
There is some sort of universal tradition that consists of getting your first facial wash from Neutrogena. Name me one teenager that never used this brand before. See? No answer. When I was younger, my first skincare product was Neutrogena’s Oil Free Acne Wash. In this post, I’m going to talk about another famous cleanser of theirs: Visibly Clear Gentle Exfoliating Wash.
Indeed, most of us used this when we were younger. But what is really interesting is that it has another effect on me now than it did back then when I had severe acne. Anyways, I’ve been using this for over a month now and I’m kind of hooked to it.
It’s a very gentle exfoliator and cleanser so you’re not damaging your skin unless you’re really heavy handed. The reason why I love this the most is because you don’t need to exfoliate with a different product afterwards as it contains blue microbeads. Holler to all the lazy people! It is designed to deep clean and clear out pores. Now, I do feel like my face is really clean after using it. But I’m not so sure it is the best at deep cleaning as it is quite gentle.
I use this in the morning and/or at night. The best time to use it is after a post-workout shower. You come out of your bathroom feeling so fresh, young and polished – not that I’m very old. Lately, I’ve been changing my skincare routine a lot – simply because I have no routine, at the moment. However, I keep on going back to this product.

Which cleanser/exfoliator are you using now? Have any of you tried this one?
My beauty favorites this month are mostly things that I have rediscovered in my collection or a combination of several products.
Now that I’m done with the Accutane treatment, my skin is going back to normal. This means that it’s getting oily again. I needed to find another cleanser that suits my skin type, so I went back to my old cleanser, the Bioderma one. I admit that it’s a bit drying at first and you feel that your face is pulled back. But with a moisturizer right after it, everything will be just perfect.
I never thought that I would love a lipstick like MAC’s Cream In Your Coffee. Sometimes I feel that it’s a bit too dark, but it actually isn’t. It’s a cremesheeen formula, so it goes on super smoothly. Lip combo with this lippy coming soon!
Moving on to blush… Now this is a blush combo that I’ve been using everyday for the past month. It’s Lovecloud (satin) and Gingerly (sheertone), both by MAC. I initially bought Gingerly as a bronzer. But after buying it, I thought it looked to orange on my face, so it stayed at the back of my drawer for quite some time now. I finally found a way to use it properly, along with Lovecloud.
For applying this combo, I’ve been loving the Sigma F40 large angled contour brush.
A post will be up soon to show you step-by-step how I like to use them!
Finally! Here’s the most exciting part of this post… Behold! Laura Mercier’s oil free tinted moisturizer! I’ve tweeted and instagramed this product, so you’ve probably seen it already… I’ve been using 2 to 3 times a week at least and I’ve been LOVING it! Review coming soon!

What are you favorites this month? Have you tried any of the products mentioned? Tell me what you think of them in the comments below 🙂
I’ve been loving this to highlight my inner corner, on my tear duct area. It’s very frosted and pigmented, so use it carefully!
I got the Lovecloud blush on my birthday, by MAC as well and I L.O.V.E it!
