A Healthy Life : Start making your own juice!

I’m a big juice lover, everyone knows that. Every time I’m in Mall of the Emirates I HAVE to stop by Pulp (the awesome juice bar) to get a big size of my very well loved “Strawberry Heaven”. But my mum always says that there is a lot of sugar in these drinks and no one knows what they put in them.

Don’t worry mum, everything is under control! I got a juicer!

Well, to be honest, it was my mum’s idea to get a juicer, haha. I got myself a blender to do a good “Strawberry Heaven” every morning.

Here are a few good reasons why you should get a juicer:

  1. You know what you’re putting in your juice
  2. You can mix a few ingredients and have your own “secret” juice recipes 
  3. It’s healthier – duh
  4. It’s fun 

When I say “it’s fun”, I really mean it. I’ve spent two days with the juicer and believe me I’m having a blast! The process is super easy but the cleaning part is a bit of a pain in the derrière.

The taste is a bit different from the juice you normally drink (the one in a box). But that’s fine, it’s only because of the fruit you used- obviously. For example, the apple you used can be sweeter than the other in your fridge. Perfectly normal.

To be honest, my first attempt wasn’t that yummy… I mixed a mango and two slices of pineapple. It was drinkable, but it would be better with an orange.

I was super excited about the juicer that I started searching for healthy recipes. Yes, healthy recipes included: lettuce, beetroot, spinach, cucumber, parsley, etc. What is this? A salad? Then I thought I would stick to “fruit” juices before I find onion and garlic juice.
But apparently the “salad” juices are really good for you. I’ll have to give it a try.

Anyway, I’ve been playing with my blender too. I’ll post a few recipes when I can 🙂

A Healthy Life : 10 Good reasons to drink green tea!

Sorry for the lack of blogging these few days, there is a lot of stuff happening in my life at the moment. But now I’m back, and I have lots of cool ideas for new posts! 😀 It’s my 20th post by the way! Yay! 
So last week, I came across valuable reasons to drink green tea! (Ew, I know) 

Now, I’m not a green tea lover. I actually hate its taste! I normally drink a cup of coffee or earl grey tea in the morning. However after discovering the advantages of the green tea, I’m trying to have a cup of it everyday. I still don’t enjoy the taste of it though.

Here are the 10 reasons that pushed me into drinking green tea: 
  • it burns fat and enables you to exercise longer. 
  • it’s a source of anti-oxidants.
  • it prolongs you life. 
  • it lowers stress and boosts brain power.
  • it reduces high blood pressure.
  • it helps protect your lungs from smoking.
  • it helps preserve and build bone.
  • it rehydrates you better than water. 
  • it reduces sun damage and enhances sun protection (when sunscreen is used).
  • it slows down the development of signs of aging. 
So, what do you think? Isn’t this convincing enough?
If I get used to it with time, I think it will replace my very well loved morning coffee!
