Blushed : Review of Reflex Blush by Chanel

October 30, 2012

I planned to take these pictures yesterday, but it turned out to be a cloudy day. As the lighting wasn’t great, the colors didn’t really turn out as they are supposed to look like. But I tried my best to match the colors of Reflex blush by Chanel to the ones in the picture.

Reflex, being part of the Joues Contraste powder blush line, comes domed in a round shaped pan with a small brush applicator on the side.
The packaging is, of course, the very well known black mirrored (from the inside) package with the double ‘C’ on the front. Very simple, elegant and chic.

I’ve had this blush for quite some time now as you can see the scratches on the outside and the amount of product left.

Without flash

At first sight, the coral color with gold shimmer looks scary and vibrant in the pan. However, once it’s swatched and blended it would look rather sheer. But not too sheer.

I know that most people complain about Chanel blushes because they’re not pigmented enough. But I believe that it gives the most beautiful natural and healthy glow to the cheeks.

With flash .. Can you see the amount of shimmer??

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you would know that I step away from shimmery products. But I’m starting to love them. It’s like ballet… At first you hate it, then you’ll learn to love it.
Above: Blended
Below: Swatched heavily

This blush looks great for everyday during daytime. You might want to skip this one if you’re not a fan of shimmer.
In the UAE, you can find Chanel counters at Sephora, Bloomindales, Paris Gallery, Sax Fifth Avenue or other beauty department stores.

It does look too shimmery.. But you’re right, Chanel blushes tend to translate soo differently on the cheeks than in the pan..

For a natural flush.. I like Chanel Rose Initial, Dior Rosy Glow and D&G Caramel Blush 😉

This look so nice but I can’t do shimmer because of my pores, they look even more evident when I have shimmer on unfortunately. 🙁 I’m really enjoying reading your blog, followed back! xx

Try to apply it more on your cheek bones rather than the apples of your cheeks. That’s what I do to prevent showing my pores with shimmery products 😉 Thanks for the follow 😀
